Homemade Football Chili

Amy's Sunday Football Chili

1-1/2 lb ground beef
2 cans crushed tomatoes
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of maple pork and beans
I can of tomato paste or tomato sauce
2 small jalapeƱo peppers minced
1 stalk of celery chopped
1 onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic minced
3 bay leaves
2 teaspoons of chili powder
2 teaspoons of paprika
1 teaspoon crushed chilies
Hot sauce to taste
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper

  1. Brown ground beef with onions, salt pepper and garlic.
  2. Add remainder of ingredients to large pot on stove pot and simmer for a minimum of 2 hours.
  3. Serve individual bowls top with grated old cheddar cheese and toasted buttered baguette!
