Red Mesa

This A.M. Steve and I were discussing why it is that we don't go to Red Mesa more often.  Locally owned and one of a kind, Red Mesa has been in St. Petersburg since 1996. We went last night with friends only to be reminded that it is still one of our favorite restaurants. As their website says, it is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Each dish is unique and distinctive with delicious sauces to complement the quality entrees they serve. I enjoy so many things on their menu, I have a hard time ordering! But one thing I always know I will be ordering before I even arrive is the Red Sangria.

Last night along with the delicious complementary chips and salsa we shared Guacamole, Shrimp Fundido (Shrimp, sundried tomato, feta and jack cheese fondue with flour tortillas), Calamari Frito (Fried calamari with habanero and chipotle chile aioli) and for my entree I ordered Southwest Tuna (Pan seared medium-rare in Southwest rub with fried sweet plantains, chipotle tomato salsa and soy orange red chile mojito).
