Fashion Philanthropy

Michelle and I met on a Caribbean Cruise and became instant friends.  We reunited a year or so later on a planned tripped to Chicago.  This is when Michelle introduced me to the US designer, Tory Burch.  I was instantly a die hard fan.  This was the beginning of my Tory Burch obsession. Every chance I could get the opportunity to visit one of her boutiques I would take it.  That meant every visit to the US pretty much.

So as it turns out, Chicago was the start of my Tory collection.  I was the proud owner of a pair of beautiful suede moccasin charcoal boots and a reversible leather belt.  After that I went to New York that summer and  bought not one, but two pairs of sandals.  A pair of strappy black demi wedge sandals and her famous EMMY Sandal.  My addiction grew. I returned to Chicago the next year and bought a pair of jeans, and a grey cargo capris, next L.A, then a Saks 5th Avenue online purchase, Vegas and the list goes on.

For the first time, Tory will be opening her first Canadian Boutique in Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping Centre TODAY!

Her look is timeless yet trend setting.  Its got an all American feel.  In other words its a fusion between preppy and bohemian, without feeling too contrived.

What I love most about Tory is her invested "interest in people who might otherwise not have the chance to pursue their goals and helping families lift themselves out of poverty…"It’s also incredibly important to the economic recovery of our country".
She is also partnering with The FEED Project and is offering an exclusive bag promotion offered only at Holt Renfrew in Canada.  You can purchase the bag online  or visit the store on May 10, 2012.

Tory Burch founded the Tory Burch Foundation in 2009. Inspired by Tory's experience as a businesswoman and working mother, the Foundation provides economic opportunities for women and their families in the United States.
