Chocolate Hemp Zucchini Cake

This A.M. I woke up to rainy weather and the loaf of cake I made last night.  A delicious moist, full of protein and nutritious cake!  This cake has certified organic hemp protein, rich in essential amino acids, omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids, zucchini and a lesser amount of sugar than most zucchini cake recipes.  It also has a unique nutty flavour, YUM!
Chocolate Hemp Zucchini Cake

Manitoba Harvest Chocolate Flavoured Hemp Protein
FRESH out of the Oven
Cake Batter, you can see the Zucchini here!
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa 
  • 4 tablespoons (Manitoba Harvest) Chocolate Hemp Protein
  • 2 small grated zucchini (about 2 1/2 cups)


Cream together butter or margarine, vegetable oil and sugar.
Add eggs, and vanilla. Blend well. 
Add grated zucchini, and mix well.
In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together.
Blend dry ingredients into the wet mixture.

Spread in a greased floured cake pan. 

*You can sprinkle walnuts and chocolate chips on top if you want some added flavour!

Bake in a preheated 350 degrees oven for 45 minutes. Check with toothpick!
