This A.M. I am remembering some of my favorite memories of 2013. Amy and I both had plenty of struggles but just as many happy moments to go with them. Please join me as I reflect....
Speaking of savory, Amy and I both ate good this year! Amy got feisty with lobster, I went Latin at a Peruvian dinner party and we both had delicious experiences dining out. Of everything we both cooked I think the most handsome dish was my New Orleans style gumbo and the prettiest was Amy's buttermilk crumb cake. Although our readers beg to differ, Amy's charcuterie board advice and my cheese bread dip recipe were our top two posts from 2013, with almost 5,000 combined views from our readers!
Over the Summer Amy and I had a lot of fun, although some of the enjoyment didn't come easy. In the early summer I was scheduled to visit Amy up in Toronto but that had to be rescheduled. I... kinda sorta, lost my passport and apparently border patrol frowns upon letting anyone through with out showing a valid passport. We were so devastated when I had to cancel my trip the night before I was supposed to leave. Amy and I both cried and we were both nauseous, but I got a new passport (after paying a hefty fee or two) and rescheduled my trip for July. Amy (finally) got to show me a good time and all of her (and now my) favorite Tastes of Toronto. Then, late summer, Amy and Sara, who I now refer to as the Rebel Girls, did a fashion post. The fashion in the photos was edgy and modern, yet you can clearly see the silly sexy fun they had while doing the photo shoot. An awesome reminder of what great friends Amy and I both have.
Moving on to fall and the holidays, it was all a blur! I vaguely remember Amy and I wearing matching skeleton dresses over 1,000 miles apart on Halloween, eating delicious butternut squash soup, selling lots of presents (retail slave) and eating waaaaay too much candy and holiday cookies!
Upon reflecting on the year Amy and I owe a big thank-you to the guys in our lives. Guys, thanks for putting up with us taking a picture of every single bite, of every single meal, every single day of the year. Thank-you for not complaining (too much) while we photograph your meals as they are getting cold. We love you! XOXOX
So, with a French 75 in my hand, cheers! Here's to a Happy and healthy New Year!
