#TBT Girl's Night Out

This A.M. I declare we need to do another girl's night out... it has been too long!


Let me set the scene.... On a long Summer day a couple months ago the girls decided to meet at Grille One Sixteen at 7:30. The Florida sunshine was still very bright and once I entered the posh darkness of Grille One Sixteen my eyes had to adjust. I was literally seeing spots while I was attempting to scan the place for my girlfriends. I couldn't see a thing except for the lit up bar backdrop. I headed over and ordered a beer thinking if anyone had arrived yet they would have flagged me down. About 5 minutes later, when I regained my vision, I was able to confirm I was indeed the first one there. Not long after Christian walked in and I waved at her. She starred into the restaurant blankly and I realized she also had been blinded. I went over and grabbed her and she said "Oh Michelle, I couldn't see you, is anyone else here yet?" The others arrived shortly after and we had a fabulous meal, with lots of laughs.

Grille One Sixteen opened their first location with the ultra cool South beach vibe in North Tampa several years ago and the long awaited South Tampa location opened about a year ago. They serve contemporary American cuisine at both locations with a flair for taking a basic favorite to the next level. We ordered a varitey of different starters and entrees. The diver scallops and the grilled salmon salad seemed to be the biggest hits of the table. I think I was the only one in the group to order something other than seafood, with the Kobe sliders being my choice. They were juicy little burgers and naturally, I got the savory fries to go with it. Perfection. The service was very good and even the manager came over a few times to chat with us. To top it all off, we shared the housemade donuts for dessert. Holy. Cow. Not the donuts... I was referring to myself after eating them!
