Selva Grill

This A.M. if I was in charge of giving an award for most beautiful and artistic food presentation it with out a doubt would go to Selva Grill in downtown Sarasota, Florida. I have never seen dishes presented so beautifully.  Having said that, I have never wrote a negative restaurant review, but our service was so bad I feel that I have to. First off, even with a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes for our table. Our waitress never introduced herself and didn't even thank us when she brought our bill. From the time we ordered our food until it was served almost and hour passed and from the time we asked for our check until it was brought to us was about 20 minutes. Also, surprisingly, I thought the food tasted a little bland. It was very pricy, which we wouldn't mind if we got excellent service and the food was flavorful... but this was not the case. Perhaps it was an off night, but we will not be paying those prices again to find out.

Whole fried snapper

Yucca Fries

Fried shrimp stacked over yucca mash, avocado and purple potato mash

I can't recall what this was but it tasted like cardboard.

Peruvian corn

  1. Maybe it took so long because they had to stick corn kernels on skewers.
